Sarah was once a grey elephant just like everyone else. Her mom is an Asian elephant. Her dad is an African elephant. She was born in Bangladesh. When she was born, everything was great. They lived in their habitat. There was a village next to them and they could occasionally see humans riding on bikes. One day, her mom was taken away for tourism in Thailand. She missed his mom everyday. She hated humans. “Humans aren’t a good species. They take benefit from their neighbours.”, she thought. When one day she received a letter from his mom.

My beloved Sarah, how are you doing? Are you eating enough? Do you play with your friends? I am missing you a lot.

As you know I had to go to Thailand and I work with humans. Many come from places far away and they take photos with me. Many other animals are here and is a lot of fun to see them happy.

I got a large hut now and I want you to come to Thailand as well and stay with me.

Love, Mum”

However, the tourism market was very competitive. There wasn’t much special about him. She was too small for tourism. People couldn’t ride on him. When she saw the flamingo on the street, she got an idea. The flamingo was pretty and dancing all the time.

Sarah immersed herself in Pink Lake on a far mountain for 30 days, from where she almost dead, but she successfully turned into pink! After that, people fell in love with her really quickly. They hugged her and took pictures with her. They dreamed of her even when they were sleeping.

As his popularity grew, she was traded to different places for tourism. He went to Australia, Europe and North America. She got to see different people from all over the world.

One day, she met the tradesman Nihal. Nihal was a mysterious person. He bought the pink elephant with $100,000,000. After that, nobody has seen her ever again. People today only see Sarah in their dreams or when they are drunk.

Once upon a time there was an elephant in Bangladesh with a strange color, and this is the story of how got it. His name was Surash, and his mom was an Asian elephant and his dad an African elephant. They lived in a habitat, but his father died when Surash was too young to remember. Dad had been killed by humans from a nearby village who feared had feared him. Since then Surash was afraid of humans and he always stayed close to his mom.

One day, his mom had to go to Thailand to work in tourism, but she couldn’t take him with her. He missed his mom very much and thought of her often. When one day he received a letter from his mom.

My beloved Surash,

how are you doing? Are you eating enough? Do you play with your friends?

I am missing you a lot.

As you know I had to go to Thailand and I work with humans. Many come from places far away and they take photos with me. Many other animals are here and is a lot of fun to see them happy.

I got a large hut now and I want you to come to Thailand as well and stay with me.

Love, Mum”

Surash immediately packed his few belongings and said farewell to his friends and made the long journey to Thailand.

When he arrived he was so happy to see his mon that he couldn’t stop trumpeting. The other animals and humans were astonished how long and loud he trumpeted. Because the travel had been so long, his mother left him with her new friends, a flock of funny Flamingos. And for the first weeks they took care of him when his mother was working and played with him on the beach.

But a peculiar thing happened when he played with the Flamingos, drank what they drank and ate what they ate. His grey skin slowly changed from a dark to a light grey and then suddenly to a pink shine. Every day when his mother came back from work, he was a bit more pink. At first, she was concerned. Was he sick? Was the sun in Thailand too strong for him? But when she asked him what he was doing all day, she understood. He had eaten the same things as his Flamingo friends: crabs. And the food that made them pink also had turned his skin color pink.

His mom decided to take Surash to work one day and the humans couldn’t believe their eyes. Everyone wanted to take pictures with this pink elephant, and though he was scared at the beginning, he started loving the attention and seeing the happy faces. People from all over the world came to see him and his patience and quiet demeanor made also many children visit him. He even travelled to far placers like Australia, Europe and China. Children all over the world dreamt of him in their sleep.

As he grew older he wasn’t able to run with his Flamingo friends on the beach, and couldn’t catch the crabs anymore. Although his friends brought him some, he didn’t eat them and within a few days changed back his color from pink to grey. The humans didn’t notice that at the beginning, but when they couldn’t find the pink elephant anymore, they were sad. But Surash was all among them, they just didn’t see him anymore. And he was happy with having now finally time for himself.

Still today people see Pink Elephant in their dreams — or when they are drunk.
